Junior Tate

Mr. Junior Tate, 70, of Cana, VA, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022, at his home.  Mr. Tate born March 20, 1952, in Surry County, to the late Lee and Mary Lou Tate.  Junior retired from Ararat Rock, and he later worked as an auto mechanic.  Left to cherish his memories are a daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Eric Marion; a son and daughter-in-law, Vance Junior and Melanie Tate; his grandchildren, Brandon Tate and his wife, Miranda, Jonathan Tate and his fiancée, Renee Inman, Cody Tate and his fiancée, Trista Hinkley, Tyler Tate and his fiancée, Brystol Badgett, Dylan Tate, Jasmine Marion, Ashleigh Marion, Gavin Inman, Madison Inman, and Cole Inman; his great-grandchildren, Bethany Tate, Colton Tate, Kayden Tate, and Kamden Tate; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Imogene and Jerry Dalton, Gracie and Bobby Goad, Cathleen and Sammy Ashburn, and Shelby and Clyde Phillips; as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Tate was preceded in death by his wife, Mable Lee Dalton Tate; a brother, Vestal Tate; and three sisters, Mable Hawks, Jacqueline Akers, and Pauline Tate.  The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Solid Rock Baptist Church, with Pastor Roy Quesenberry and Pastor Anthony Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
