Karen Montgomery Johnson

Karen Montgomery Johnson, age 62, of Charleston, SC, widow of Michael Johnson, entered into eternal rest Thursday, May 18, 2017. Karen was born in Surry County on July 1, 1954, the daughter of James E. and Doris Willard Montgomery. She was a retail sales representative with R. J. Reynolds and Food Lion. She was most recently a devoted caregiver to her granddaughter, Brooklyn, and a member of Grace on the Ashley Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Brady Johnson and his wife, Stephanie; her granddaughter Brooklyn Ray Johnson all of Charleston, SC; brothers, Mike Montgomery and David Montgomery; sisters, Tammy Summerlin and Jamie Molinar; sister-in-law, Gail Moorefield and husband Harold; and her step mother-in-law, Betty Sue Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 27, 2017, at J. Henry Sturh Funeral Home, West Ashley Chapel, in Charleston. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until the time of the service. The family will also receive friends beginning at 10:00 am, Monday, May 29, 2017 at Blues Grove Baptist Church in Mount Airy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grace on the Ashley Baptist Church, 2014 Bees Ferry Rd., Charleston, SC 29414.
