Kate Leonard Badgett

Mrs. Kate Leonard Badgett, age 93, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at her home. Mrs. Badgett was born in Carroll County, Virginia on March 31, 1928, to the late Frank and Ola Edwards Leonard. Mrs. Badgett retired from Northern Regional Hospital and was a member of Rockford Street United Methodist Church. Kate was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by a daughter, Amy Katherine Badgett; along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Badgett was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Stentz Badgett; two sisters; and six brothers. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Loman and Rev. Phillip Adam officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Special music selection by Emily Adams. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 28, 2021, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
