Mrs. Kate Leftwich Bunn, 89 of Fancy Gap, VA the widow of H. Wayne Bunn, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Abbott's Creek Care and Rehabilitation Center in Lexington, NC. She enjoyed being surrounded by nurses and friends, however she still missed her friends at Fancy Gap, VA. She was fun loving, always participating and enjoying the activities being offered. When her health slowly began to decline, in August 2009, she had to move to a nursing home. She cherished visits from her friends and family. She was a long time member of Fancy Gap United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Patsy Bunn Swain and husband Lewis of Winston-Salem, NC; a son, Kermit Wayne Bunn and wife, Sandra of Marietta, OH; four grandchildren, Travis Swain of Western Carolina University, Kendra Naumovski (George) of Jacksonville, FL, Kathy Okerstrom (Joel) of Columbus, OH, Kevin Bunn (Mary) of Marietta, OH; four great grandchildren, Mila Naumovski, Zane Gray Okerstrom, Callie Marie Bunn and Garrett Wayne Bunn. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bunn was preceded in death by a brother, Kermit Leftwich; a sister, Opal Leftwich. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie in state 30 minutes before the service.
