Kate Tolbert Parsons

Mrs. Kate Tolbert Parsons, 94, of 1317 Grove Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Monday, September 10, 2007, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Parsons was born May 2, 1913, in Surry County, to the late Sid and Dona McCraw Tolbert. She was retired from Perry Manufacturing Company and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. She is survived by six grandchildren and spouses, Mike and Susan Parsons, Tim and Dara Parsons, Ronnie and Lisa Parsons, Donnie and Debbie Parsons, Scottie and Mandy Parsons, and Sherrie and Elber DeHart, all of Mount Airy; eight great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Vera Parsons of Mount Airy; and two sisters-in-law, Wilda Mae Tolbert and Gracie Tolbert, both of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parsons was preceded in death by her husband, Thurmond Parsons; two sons, Wade Parsons and Sidney Parsons; an infant daughter, Mary Grace Parsons; four sisters, Della Hughes, Omie Flippen, Lela Snow, and Hattie Holden; and four brothers, Roy Tolbert, Swanson Tolbert, Bill Tolbert, and John Tolbert. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by Elder Ronnie Mills, and burial will follow at Old State Road Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
