Katherine Sawyers

Mrs. Katherine Elaine Sawyers, 65 of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011 at her home. She was born in Surry County on June 19, 1946 to the late Alexander and Georgia Boyd Haynes. She was retired from Sara Lee. She is survived by a son, Steven Sawyers of Mt. Airy; three grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Bonnie Quesinberry, Ruth Goins, and Betty and Troy Hodges all of Mt. Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pete and Gloria Haynes, Richard and Linda Haynes and Lonnie Haynes all of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sawyers was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Easter;a brother, Sanford Haynes; brothers-in-law, Sammy Goins, and W.R. Quesinberry. A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Peoples Church Cemetery with Rev. Joey Lane officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 until 1:30 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Moody Funeral Home to help with the funeral expences.
