Ms. Kathleen Louise Bonds Cobler, 82, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday morning, February 20, 2010, at Central Continuing Care. Ms. Cobler was born January 1, 1928, in Carroll County, VA, daughter of the late Jesse Alfred and Louise Beatrice Sawyers Bonds. Kathleen worked as a hostess at Hardee's on Rockford Street for many years and was a member of the Baptist faith. She is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ila Faye and Rush Utt of Hillsville, VA, and Mary Lee and R.W. Coins of Pinnacle; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Milton and Dolly Bond of Hillsville, VA, and Elmo and Melva Jean Reynolds of Pinnacle; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ms. Cobler was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Bonds and Beulah McMillian; and three brothers, Clifton Bonds, Hurley Bonds, and Vernie Bonds. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 22, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Richard Casstevens and the Rev. Freddie Bonds officiating. Burial will follow in the Bonds Family Cemetery in Fancy Gap, VA. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
