Kathy Leigh Arrington

Ms. Kathy Leigh Arrington, 60, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday morning, October 30, 2021, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. Ms. Arrington was born July 24, 1961, in Surry County, one of four children born to the late Wayne Edward and Annie Ruth Goins Arrington. Kathy worked as a certified nursing assistant at Senior Quality Care Inc. She attended Friendly Chapel Church and was a member of Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Alisha and Matt Winesett of Pilot Mountain and Casey and Mark Hiatt of Mount Airy; five grandchildren, Walker Hiatt, Wrenn Hiatt, and Willow Hiatt, all of Mount Airy, and Madison Winesett and Maverick Winesett, both of Pilot Mountain; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothea and Larry Stone and Alice and Roger Thompson, all of Mount Airy; a brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Teresa Arrington of Pilot Mountain; her nieces and nephews, Abby Thompson and Magen Thompson, both of Mount Airy, and Cody Arrington and Isaiah Arrington, both of Pilot Mountain; and her special companion, Daniel Davis of Mount Airy. The funeral service will be held Friday, November 5, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Dr. David Sparks and the Rev. Tony Goins officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the church. At other times, the family welcomes friends to the home of Casey and Mark Hiatt at 239 Catalina Lane, Mount Airy. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
