Kathy Ann Raines Marshall

Mrs. Kathy Ann Raines Marshall, 60, of 113 Puckett Street, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, May 29, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Marshall was born February 26, 1949, in Surry County County, daughter of the late Odis William and Eva Beasley Raines. She was a loving and devoted housewife. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Doyle Michael Marshall, Sr. of the home; a daughter, Robin Dunlap of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Lisa Flippen of Mount Airy; two stepsons, Doyle Michael Marshall, Jr. of Spruce Pine and Chad Dustin Marshall of Wichita, KS; four grandchildren, Joseph Alan Freeman, Skyler Brooke Flippen, Bailey Shae Flippen, and Brody Thomas Flippen, all of Mount Airy; and a brother, Edwin L. Cooke of Cana, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by a brother, Erwin C. Cooke. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 1, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Blain Oakley officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
