Kay Francis Simmons

Mrs. Kay Lambert Simmons, age 81, of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, February 04, 2020 at Surry Community Health and Rehab in Mt. Airy.  She was born on April 28, 1938 to the late Glenn and Vivian Wagoner Lambert.  She was a loving mother and grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  Her favorite past time was spending time with her children and grandchildren, which her world revolved around.  Left to cherish her memories are daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Angel, Jayna and Richard Lowe, Donna and Kevin Nelson, Wanda and Ted Peterson,; grandchildren, Cameron Angel, Gavin Angel, Kali Boles, Lakin East; great-grandchildren, Kason Boles, Weston Boles, Ivan Angel as well as several step-grandchildren and several step great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Mary Lambert as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her husband, Jobe “Jay” Simmons as well as several brothers and sisters.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Brad Quesinberry.  Burial will follow in Community Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Community Baptist Church c/o Pam Sewell, 198 Delaware Ave., Mt.
