Kayla Paige Norman

Miss Kayla Paige Norman, 18, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009. Miss Norman was born June 9, 1990, in Surry County, to Shonna Paige Mayes Sumner Norman and Brian Donald Norman. She was a graduate of North Surry High School and was currently a student at Surry Community College. She worked at Burger King and attended Genesis Full Gospel Church. In addition to her parents, Miss Norman is survived by a special dad, Jason Anderson; her grandparents, Frances and Tommy Sumner, Thad and Audrey Mayes, Brenda and David Pruitt, and Donald Norman; aunts and uncles, Denise and John Thompson, Bridget Burch, Tommy and Brandi Sumner, Jr., Twinkle and Stephen Schaefer, J.R. and Kelli Mayes, Ricky and Lorie Culler, and Sherry Wiles; cousins, Matthew and Lindsey Culler, Jensen Wiles, Dustin, Dallas and Jessica Thompson, Tessa and Sienna Burch, Haley, Natalie and Chance Sumner, and Alex Mayes; and special friends, Noah Bowman, Jenna Enfield, Samantha Flippin, and Erika Rumsey. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, May 21, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Genesis Full Gospel Church, by the Rev. Lonnie Gunter, the Rev. Larry Johnson, and Noah Bowman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Moody Funeral Services, Inc., P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist with the funeral expenses.
