Kelly Jamison Collins

Kelly Jamison Collins-

On Friday, August 20, 2021, Kelly, 27, lost his battle with addiction. Kelly had struggled many years trying to overcome his addiction with heroin. The last year he had made so much progress, still struggling, but trying harder than ever. He had finally gotten his driver’s license, had his first car, and was working at Mi Pueblo Restaurant. This was a wonderful accomplishment, his battle with drugs had made him a “late bloomer”. On June 30th, he woke up and could not walk. He was diagnosed with Rhabdomyolysis Syndrome. He was hospitalized for five weeks. He had to be on opioids for his pain. He wanted to stay away from opioids, but his pain was too great. Kelly attended RJ Reynolds High School. He was a wonderful man, creative, funny, always willing to help a friend in need. Kelly was born May 5, 1994. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bonnie Reavis and Gus Ingram, and his paternal grandparents, Linda Cannoy and Lewis Collins. Kelly leaves behind a family that loved and supported him. A family that can only find peace in his peace. Parents, Shane and Traci Collins; brother and sister-in-law, Tyler and Chelsea Collins their children, Trenton and Dally, a brother and sister-in-law, Blake and Stefanie Collins, and their children, Karleigh, Katelyn, Logan; a grandfather, Don Cannoy. Kelly has lost many friends through the years from this addiction. He leaves behind special friends Donell Williams, Dylan and Ryan Martin. We would like to thank Forsyth County EMS, Winston-Salem Police, and fire department for their quick response over the years. There will be a Celebration of Life in Kelly’s honor in the near future. It will be by invitation only. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a worthy cause, help a friend, help a stranger. SHOW KINDNESS. We never know the burdens that others are living with. Thank you to everyone that has helped Kelly with his struggles, and to those still struggling, May God Bless and protect you. You are valuable! Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy is assisting the Collins Family. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
