Mr. Kelsey Colin Puckett, age 75 of Laurel Fork, VA, passed away at his home on Wednesday November 22, 2023. He was born February 9, 1948, in Carroll County, one of 14 children born to the late Maynard and Larma Collins Puckett. Mr. Puckett proudly served our country in the US Army and retired from the construction business. Mr. Puckett loved his westerns, whether it was watching a movie or reading a good book about them. Kelsey also loved his grandchildren and could tell a good story. Left to cherish his memory are a daughter and son-in-law, Lindsay and Terry Parks; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Eva Puckett, and Drew and Nicole Puckett; seven grandchildren, Caleb Parks, Colin Parks, Kennedy Parks, Matthew Puckett, Ella Puckett, Griffin Puckett, and Abram Puckett; six sisters, Rachel Inman, Rebekah Mace, Edith and Barnard Montgomery, Ina Alderman, Ann Keith, and Beryl and JL Cox; five brothers, Truman and Ollie Puckett, Winston and Oleta Puckett, Stuart and Susan Puckett, Dan and Jan Puckett, and Bret and Nancy Puckett; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by two brothers, Grant Puckett and Max Puckett. A celebration of life service will be held Monday November 27, 2023, at 11:00am in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Pastor Stephen Puckett officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Memorial Honor Guard, Pilot Mountain Post 9436 and Mount Airy Post 2019. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1427 Edgewood Drive Suite 101, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
