Mr. Kemp Russell Wolfe, Sr., 91, formerly of Copeland, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 20, 2008, at Centerclair Nursing Center in Lexington. Mr. Wolfe was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia Mae Livengood Wolfe; a daughter, Linda Wolfe Severino; a son, Kemp Russell Wolfe, Jr.; a step-son, Leonard Marion; four sisters; and three brothers. Mr. Wolfe was born July 16, 1917, in Surry County, to the late William Basley Wolfe and Betty Elizabeth Jones Wolfe. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Kay W. Brown and Kenneth of Pawleys Island, SC; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie D. Wolfe and Judie of Whitsett, Gary K. Wolfe and Kathy of Lexington, and Charles W. Wolfe of Carboro; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; his wife, Helen Marion Wolfe of Carthage; a step-daughter and her husband, Pam M. Darnell and Jerry of Westmore; a step-son and his wife, Bill Marion and Debbie of Carthage; twelve step- grandchildren; twelve step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Carrie Casstevens of Dobson and Hester Simpson of Ararat; and a brother and sister-in-law, Ira and Clara Wolfe of Mount Airy. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 23, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by Dr. Craig Edwards and Pastor Brandon Wolfe, and burial will follow in the White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Suite 999, Charlotte, NC 28215-3220.
