Mr. Ken Jason Harrold, 75, of Lambsburg, VA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, February 11, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Harrold was born October 11, 1949, in Patrick County, VA, one of six children born to the late Harrison Davis and Needa Juanita Queen Harrold. For 43 years, Ken worked at Westinghouse, where he was a valued member of the team, earning the respect of his colleagues and friends alike. His loyalty and commitment to his job were a testament to his character and work ethic. He was devoted to his wife, Shirley, and together they shared a life built on mutual respect and love. Above all else, Ken cherished his two sons, Travis and Kenneth, and he was a constant presence in their lives, offering guidance, support, and unconditional love. He was a man of his word, dependable and steadfast, both in his professional life and in his personal relationships. His commitment to family and faith was unwavering, and he was a longtime member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Outside of his work, Ken had a passion for woodworking and old cars. His love for these crafts was only matched by his enjoyment of mowing the lawn and reminiscing about the good old days with his brother, Athel. He found great comfort in the simple pleasures of life and took pride in every task he set his hands to. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Horton Harrold; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Amy Harrold; two grandchildren, Kendall Harrold and Cole Harrold; a sister, Stacy Puckett; a brother and sister-in-law, Athel and Brenda Harrold; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Tracy Harrold. In addition to his parents, Mr. Harrold was preceded in death by a son, Travis Jason Harrold; a sister, Macy Collins; two brothers, Haeford Haywood Harrold and Hayse Honor Harrold; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Houston and Carrie Horton. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. David Sechrist and the Rev. Josh Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrold Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the special care, love, and compassion shown by the staff at Mount Airy Dialysis Center.
