Mr. Kenneth Eugene Burns, 66, of 3003 NC Highway 150 North, Lexington, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at his home. Mr. Burns was born June 10, 1946, in Forsyth County, the son of the late Raymond Lee and Myrtle Louise Fansler Burns. Kenneth worked as a heavy equipment foreman for many years. He is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra Burns of Mount Airy, Kathy and Tom Rose of Vinton, OH, and Amie Burns of Winston-Salem; a stepson and his wife, Michael "Red" and Susan Oliver of Lexington; six grandchildren, Santana Burns, Kristy Bowman, Charity Rose, Holly Rose, Mitchell Smith, and Christian Burns; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Janet Cline, Mary Shoemaker, and Ann Tullock, all of Winston-Salem; and a brother, Tommy Burns of Winston-Salem. In addition to his parents, Mr. Burns was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Priddy and Violet Simmons; and three brothers, Richard Burns, Donald Burns, and Beverly Burns. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at 6:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Gray Fansler officiating. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Services, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Burns family.
