Kenneth Gray Childress

Mr. Kenneth Gray Childress, age 65, of Dobson, passed away Monday, December  5, 2022, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. He was born January 19, 1957, in Surry County, to the late Homer Junior Childress and the late Thelma Mae Marion Childress. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kendall Gray Childress.  

            Left to cherish his memories are his daughter and son-in-law, Cassie Childress Pike and Chris Pike; grandchildren, A.C.Pike and Chloe (William) Childress; his sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Joe Greene; his brother, Bruce Childress; his nephews, Rodney Bledsoe, Jonathan and Chenoa Bledsoe, and Allan and Leona Childress; great nieces and nephew, Lillian Childress, Addison Childress, and Isaac Bledsoe; former sister-in-law, Vickie Lynch; and former wife, friend and mother of his children, Cindy Hitchings. Mr. Childress was a loving son, father, brother, pappy and friend to all who knew him. He was also a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Monday, December 12, 2022, from1:00-2:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service. A Celebration of his life will follow at 2:00 PM in the Moody-Davis Chapel with Rev. Billy Joe Jenkins officiating. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Childress family.
