Kenneth Douglas Goins

Mr. Kenneth Douglas Goins, age 74, of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019, at Northern Hospital.  Mr. Goins was born in Patrick County on August 21, 1944, to Willie and Ethel Columbia Goins.  He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Westfield and a retired truck driver after 40 years of service.  Surviving is his devoted wife of 24 years, Mildred Wilson Goins; a step daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Barry Foster; grandchildren, Christopher Douglas Flippin and Brittany Browder and husband Ashley; great grandchildren, Nathanael Douglas Flippin and Jaxon, Halle, and Cora Browder; a daughter-in-law, Connie Flippin; a sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Robert Bowman; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth “Libby” Goins; a special niece, Kathy Gwyn and husband Gray; several nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and a special friend, David Schmidt.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Goins was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Douglas Flippin; brothers, Bobby Goins, James Junior Goins, and Herbert Ray Goins, and a nephew, Herbert Dean Goins.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Trinity Baptist Church by Pastor Tommy Nichols, Bro. Roger Brown and Bro. Aric Brown.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy.
