Kenneth "Cotton" Haynes

Mr. Kenneth "Cotton" Haynes, 66, of Ararat, VA, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2010, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born March 22, 1944, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Arthur Marion and Nonnie Le Ann Hall Haynes. He was employed at Flemings Market and was also a contractor. Mr. Haynes is survived by his wife, Nancy Darlene Haynes of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Tina Beamer and Derrick Chappell of Ararat, VA, Donna Le Ann and Mathew Joyce of Cana, VA, and Connie Vanessa and Tony Pasquariello of Eden; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Linda and Rex Arrington and Helen Scott, all of Cana, VA; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Esther Haynes of Cana, VA, Gary and Gayle Haynes of Mount Airy, and Ronald Haynes and Martha Jones of Raleigh; several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Vannie Felts of Cana, VA; and two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Delight and Calvin Conner and Diana and the Rev. Ray Fleming, all of Cana, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Haynes was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Benjamin Haynes; and a brother, Maynard Haynes. A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 3, 2010, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Kelly Haynes and the Rev. Ray Fleming officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
