Kenneth "Kenny" Ray Hicks

Mr. Kenneth “Kenny” Ray Hicks, 45, of Mt. Airy, NC, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center, Sunday, October 25, 2020.  He was born in Surry County, May 23, 1975, to Cathy White and the late Richard Gray Hicks.  Kenny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son , and brother.  He always greeted you with his friendly smile and was always ready to play a joke or kid around.  He was an avid gamesman, and sports enthusiast of any sport.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Kelly Sawyers Hicks; children, Marisa Hicks, Mason Hicks, Kennedi Hicks and fiancé J.J.; grandchild, Ka’Miah; and his parents, Cathy and Mark Stevens; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kristy and Wayne Thomas, and Kelly and Scottie Smith; brothers and a sister-in-law, Michael Stevens, and Christopher and Katie Stevens; grandmother, Mary Jo White; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Calvin and Kathy Sawyers; grandmother-in-law, Louise Bingman; sister-in-law and husband, Stacy Kirkman and Tim; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his father, Kenny was preceded in death by grandparents, Kenneth White, and Anna Belle and Ray Hicks.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Alex Martin and Rev. Arlis Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.  Due to the health concerns at this time, everyone attending is encouraged social distancing and please wear mask. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Edward Jones.  Make checks payable to Edward Jones for the benefit of Mason and Marisa Hicks.  Edwards Jones, 496 N.
