Kenneth Robert Payne "Dog" Sechrist

Mr. Kenneth Robert Payne “Dog” Sechrist, 68, of Mt. Airy passed away Monday, April 3, 2023, at Atrium Health Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem.  He was born in Forsyth County on January 17, 1955, to the late Arnold Payne and Laura Pack Sechrist.  Mr. Sechrist was a former logger, and a member of Holly Grove True Gospel.  He is survived by a special companion, Pat Atkins; stepdaughter, Denise Pack; stepsons, Mark Thompson, David Thompson; step grandchildren, Chris Owens, Anthony Owens, DeAnna Owens, Adrian Owens, Tyler Thompson, Seth Thompson, Aaron Thompson, Brianna Thompson; five step great grandchildren; sisters, Laura “Sissy” Noah, Emma Bowman; special caregiver, Vicki Tate; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Sechrist was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Dawn Thompson; sisters, Mary Sechrist, and Barbara Niten; a brother, Robert “Bud” Sechrist.  A funeral service will be held Friday, April 7, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Holly Grove True Gospel with Preacher Brian Pack, the Rev. Richard Barton, and the Rev.
