Kenneth Earl Swift

Mr. Kenneth Earl Swift, 61, of Thurmond, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born November 8, 1949, in Surry County, to the late Joseph Wendell "Toots" and Hazel Pardue Swift. He was a wonderful husband and a proud father of A1C Shaun Wendell Swift of the United States Air Force. He retired from Lowe's Inc. with 15 years of service. After his retirement, he went to work at Bank Of America in Charlotte. Ken loved to play golf, and he won his last match with his brother, Wayne. Surviving are his wife, Sheila Clark Swift of the home; a son, A1C Shaun Wendell Swift of Sumter, SC; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gayle and Danny Fisher of Niota, TN, and Olivia and Ken Fortin of Cana, VA; a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Donna Swift of State Road; five nieces; and three nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at 4:00 PM at Mountain Park Baptist Church, with Dr. Carl Childs officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3:00 until 4:00 PM at Mountain Park Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Kidney Cancer Association, P.O. Box 3516, Oak Brook, IL 60522-3516. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the family.
