Mr. Kenneth Edward Tobler, 66, of 882 Red Brush Road, Mount Airy, passed away Monday afternoon, June 13, 2011, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Tobler was born March 23, 1945, in Surry County, son of the late Vertis Hoston and Eva Elizabeth Smith Tobler. Kenneth was a tobacco farmer for many years and a member of Round Peak Masonic Lodge #616 AF and AM. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betty Jean Wood Tobler of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael Edward "Eddie" and Amy Milton Tobler of Lillington; a grandson, Preston Wallace Tobler of Lillington; two sisters, Ethel M. Tobler and Rachel Dianne Tobler, both of Mount Airy; and a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Jeannie Tobler of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Tobler was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Russell Easter. The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 16, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Westside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with full Masonic rites conducted by the Round Peak Masonic Lodge #616 AF and AM. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where his body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
