Kermit Odell Nunn

Mr. Kermit Odell Nunn, 76, of Ararat, VA, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Nunn was born June 5, 1932, in Patrick County, VA, to Abe and Laler Smart Nunn. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline Sleight Nunn of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Mark Reece of Claudville, VA; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Laura Katherine Nunn of Greenville, NC; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Nunn and Morgan Nunn; and two sisters, Zelma Doss and Ergie Bowman, both of Claudville, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nunn was preceded in death by seven sisters, Virgie Hazelwood, Myrtle Nunn, Lynn Bowman, Cubie McCormick, Essie Inman, Bordie McMillian, and Ordie Underwood; and two brothers, R.C. Nunn and Odell Slate. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, May 1, 2009, at Church of Christ in Dry Pond, by Chaplain Jerry Keegan. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy is serving the Nunn family.
