Mrs. Kimberly Dale Hull Boyd, age 51 of Mount Airy, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday February 27, 2024. She was born January 16, 1973, in Surry County to Annie Arlene McMillian Hull and the late Dickie Dale Hull. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be so deeply missed. Kimberly was a retired registered nurse who loved helping others in their time of need. Many times you would find her at home on her off time tutoring many students for the nursing program while her husband would be fixing supper for all the girls. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, James Kelly Boyd; daughter, Emma Olivia Boyd; son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Tiffany Boyd; her mother, Arlene Hull and she was Bubby to her two precious twin grandsons; Layne Boyd and Leland Boyd; a special friend she considered her sister, Crystal Hall; her special fur baby, Trooper; and several other family and friends. In addition to her father, Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lee McMillian and Athalene McMillian Owens; and her paternal grandparents, Edward Harvey “Edd” Hull and Alpha Margaret Hicks Hull; and her step grandfather, Franklin Junior Owens. Funeral services will be held on Monday March 4, 2024, at 2:00pm at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the People’s Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church from 1:00 – 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made by visiting www.florence-nightingale-foundation.org.uk/. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
