Kimberly Dawn McHone

Mrs. Kimberly Dawn McHone, age 54, of Mt. Airy, passed away on December 2, 2020.  She was born in Surry County on August 5, 1966 to Jimmy and Betty Lowe McHone.  She was a loving Mother and grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  She was so full of life and loved her family more than anything.  She cared for everyone and was the most loving Nana ever. She loved her grandbabies with all her heart, and would fight a bear if she thought someone was coming against her family.  Left to cherish her memories are a daughter, Meghan Mayes; son and daughter-in-law,  Corey and Courteney Mayes; grandchildren, Noah Mayes, Chloe Mayes, Jo Mayes, Jemma Mayes; sister and brother-in-law, Christie and Danny Jones; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Deanna McHone; nieces and nephews, Jacob McHone, Ellie McHone, Olivia Jones, Bella Jones; special friend, Joel Holderman.  She was preceded in death by her  Granny, Hester Greenwood.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Antioch Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with services conducted by Rev. Grant Atkins with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time for the service at the church.  In honor of Mrs. McHone the family has ask that all who will to wear something purple as this was her favorite color.
