Kristin Olivia Goins

Miss Kristin Olivia Goins, 16, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 20, 2017, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Miss Goins was born August 6, 2001, in Forsyth County, one of three daughters born to Michael Shane and Kelly McCraw Goins. Kristin was a junior at North Surry High School and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was a fun-loving person who always kept her friends laughing. Kristin loved North Surry and was always supportive of her Greyhound family. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Kelly and Travis King; three sisters, Breanna Ollie Goins, Lacy Omelia Goins, and Ellie Grace King; her grandparents, Harold and Betty Jo McCraw and Pam Tilley Goins; her uncles and aunts, Jarrod and Amber McCraw, Daniel and Beth McCraw, and Jonathan Goins; many, special cousins; her great-grandmothers, Alene Tilley and Elsie Norine “Gladys” Goins; and her stepgrandparents, Barbara King and James and Vicki King. Kristin was preceded in death by her father, Michael Shane Goins; her paternal grandfather, Roby Lee Goins, Jr.; and an uncle, Roby Lee Goins, III. A service of worship and celebration of Kristin’s life will be held Saturday, December 23, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Antioch Baptist Church, with the Rev. Grant Atkins and the Rev. Rusty Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. No formal visitation will be held at the funeral home or church; however, the family welcomes friends to the home beginning Thursday evening, December 21, 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Surry County Schools Educational Foundation, P.O. Box 364, Dobson, NC 27017, to establish a scholarship in Kristin’s memory. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is respectfully serving the family.
