Kyle R. Harris

Mr. Kyle R. Harris, 82, of 536 Bray Ford Road, Dobson, husband of Janice Layne Harris, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. Mr. Harris was born May 15, 1924, in Carroll County VA, to the late George Taylor Harris and Maude Nail Harris. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II, and retired from Coble Dairy. Surviving are his wife, Janice Layne Harris of the home; a stepdaughter, Jeanette Fredericks of Dobson; a stepgrandson, Eric Fredericks of Dobson; a sister, Esther Lowe of Mount Airy; and a brother, Carroll Harris of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Harris was preceded in death by a sister, Imogene Jones; two brothers, Howell Harris and Scott Harris; and three half-brothers, Jay Harris, Wayne Harris, and Glen Harris. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Double Creek Church of Christ. The service will be conducted by the Brother Roger Sickmiller and Brother Bob Parish, and burial will follow in the Double Creek Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, where his body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes before the funeral service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
