Lacy Smith

Mr. Lacy “Gary” Smith, 73, of Rural Hall, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021, at his home.  Mr. Smith was born January 9, 1948, in Surry County, to the late Lacy Jefferson and Thelma Mae Eads Smith.  He was a retired mechanic from Gravley Tractor Company and was of the Baptist faith.  He is survived by his eldest son, Gary “Adam” Smith and his wife, Kerriann Smith, and two grandchildren; his youngest son, “Michael” Shane Brooks and his wife, Heather Brooks, and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his aunt, Reba Dellenback; as well as several cousins.  A graveside service will be held Monday, March 29, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery, with Bruce Mosley officiating.  There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made online to the Make a Wish Foundation.
