Lannie King Easter

Mrs. Lannie King Easter, age 82 widow of Arthur Easter, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Easter was born in Carroll County VA, March 8, 1925 to the late Lettie Jones King and Jesse King. She worked for Perry Manufacturing over twenty years and retired from Spencer's. She was a charter member of Paul's Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Easter is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Donald McKinney of Mt. Airy, Ruthie and Uless Edwards of Cana, VA; grandsons and spouses, Jeffrey K. and Charity Edwards, Michael Shane and Amanda Edwards all of Cana; great grandson, Isaiah Daniel Edwards; sisters and brothers-in-law, Audrey Rippey, Ida and Perry Jones, Effie and Lynwood Towe, Ethel and Clayton Combs special sister-in-law, Joyce King all of Cana; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rawley and Ruth King of Mt. Airy, Posey King and Kermit and Joyce King all of Cana; special friends, Aubrey and Geraldine Combs and Gary Cagle. In addition to her husband and parents Mrs. Easter was preceded in death by a brother Arnold King. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 Friday, December 14, 2007 at Paul's Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Tony Holder and Rev. Larry Jones with burial to follow in the King Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Friday, December 14, 2007. Flowers will be accepted but prefer memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to express a special thanks to Central Continuing Care and Mountain Valley Hospice for the loving care given to Mrs. Easter during her illness.
