Larma Collins Puckett

Mrs. Larma Collins Puckett, 92, of Laurel Fork, VA, passed away Monday, December 28, 2009, at her home, surrounded by her loving children. Mrs. Puckett was born January 11, 1917, in Carroll County, VA, to James Abram and Rebekah Bowman Collins. She retired from Spencer's Inc. and was a devoted homemaker. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and Cliff Inman and Rebekah Mace, all of Mount Airy, Edith and Barnard Montgomery of Hillsville, VA, Ina and Joe Alderman, Ann Keith, and Beryl and J.L. Cox, all of Laurel Fork, VA; sons and daughters-in-law, Truman and Ollie Puckett, Dan and Jan Puckett, and Kelsey Puckett, all of Laurel Fork, VA, Winston and Oleta Puckett and Bret and Nancy Puckett, all of Hillsville, VA, Stuart and Susan Puckett of Gaithersburg, MD, and Linda Puckett of Springfield, VA; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Homer Collins of Hillsville, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Puckett was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Puckett; two sons, Grant Puckett and Max Puckett; and a grandson, Gary Puckett. The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 31, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Nathan Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Puckett Memorial Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.
