Larry Eugene Bryant

Mr. Larry Eugene Bryant, 59, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Bryant was born October 2, 1950, in Carroll County, VA, to Ruth Hawks Bryant and the late Randolph Paul Bryant. Lary was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a well-known self-employed plumber and a member of Midway Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Iris Goins Bryant of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Derrek and Roga Bryant of Lambsburg, VA; his mother, Ruth Hawks Bryant of Lambsburg, VA; a stepson and his wife, Jamie and Becky Heath of Mount Airy; a granddaughter, Emily Bryant; seven stepgrandchildren, Kaitlin Pope, Jamie Heath, II, Kathryn Heath, Alicia Heath, Bridgette Heath and Kayla Anderson; a brother, Junior Bryant of Lambsburg, VA; and a half-sister and her husband, Blondie and Ronnie Shackelford of Mount Airy. In addition to his father, Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Bryant; and a stepdaughter, Sharon Heath. The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 25, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Tommy Vass and the Rev. Dean Eaton officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens, with military honors by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
