Larry Franklin Hiatt

Mr. Larry Franklin Hiatt, 62, of 1098 McBride Road, Mount Airy, passed away Monday night, August 15, 2016, at his home. Mr. Hiatt was born March 12, 1954, in Surry County, the son of the late Frank and Mindy Vipperman Hiatt. Larry worked as a stone setter at Blackmon Granite for many years and was a member of the Christian faith. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Eugene Bowman of the home; a sister, Nedie Handy Hiatt of Mount Airy; and a brother, Jack Handy of Patrick Springs, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hiatt was preceded in death by two sisters, Ocie Handy and Delcie Cassady. Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy is in charge of the cremation and serving the family. A memorial service may be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
