Mr. Larry Hooker, 65, of Pilot Mountain, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010, at his home. Mr. Hooker was born March 15, 1945, in Surry County, son of the late James Arlis and Sadie Jessup Hooker. He was a farmer and former employee of Carolina Solutions and Armtex. He is survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Earlene and Adolphus "A.G." Watson of Greensboro, Vernona Mabe and Doris and Billy Easter, all of Mount Airy; a brother, Stewart Hooker and his friend, Janice Parker, of Westfield; a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Margie Hooker of Ridgeway, VA; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Gary Robertson, Jerry and Adam McHone, and Brad and Sherry Jessup; and several rook buddies. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hooker was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Bennett and Roxie Hooker; and four brothers, Cleotha Hooker, Grady Hooker, Edward Hooker, and Junior Hooker. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Don Fellow officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Herman United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
