Larry Harold Jones

Mr. Larry Harold Jones, 62, of 1348 Sandy Ridge Road, Cana, VA, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Jones was born May 29, 1948, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Namon Harold and Magdalene T. Jones. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was an orchardist. Surviving are his wife, Sharon McMillian Jones of the home; a son, Brandon Jones of the home; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Gary Fleming and Wanda and Wayne Holt, all of Cana, VA; two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law, Douglas and Cindy McMillian of Cana, VA, Michael and Stephanie McMillian of Woodlawn, VA, and Sherry Spencer of Cana, VA; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Melvin and Louella McMillian of Cana, VA; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 30, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Sechrist and the Rev. James Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Family Cemetery, with military honors by the Grover King VFW Post #1115 in Hillsville, VA. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 201, Mount Airy, NC 27030 or to the Jones Family Cemetery Fund.
