Larry Lambert

Mr. James Larry lambert, age 77, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  He was born in Surry County on December 31, 1941 to the late Dewy and Versie Gammons Lambert.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will surely be missed by all who knew him.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Merle Lambert of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Sharon Lambert and Sheila Diggs and husband Darren ; son, Scott Lambert; grandchildren, Justin Amos and wife Britany, James Amos, Daniel Chandler and wife Kaitlyn, Seth Chandler and Wesley Diggs; great-grandchildren, Cooper Chandler, Moira Amos, Sophie Chandler; sister, Carolyn Flippen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Bonnie Lambert, Gerald and Tammy Lambert, Weldon and Sharon Lambert; special friends, Mike Jones and Lanny Tayloe.  In addition to his parents Mr. Lambert was preceded in death by sisters, Nelda Kay Lambert and Hilda Sue Lambert.  A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Slate Mountain Baptist Church with services conducted by Rev. Chris McMillian.  Burial will follow in Midkiff Family Cemetery with military honors by Army National Guard Honor Guard and by VFW Post #290, King NC.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time for the service at the church.
