Larry Robert Reece

Mr. Larry Robert Reece, age 61 of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2008 at Central Continuing Care. Mr. Reece was born in Surry County, September 7, 1946 to Curry Washington "Dock" and Ella Lee Gunnell Reece. He was a mechanic at Snow's Garage and later self employed. Surviving are his special dogs Susie and Flash who he adored; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Geneva Freeman of Toast; Margaret and Robert "Monk" Moncus; Carol and Wade Haynes, all of Mt. Airy; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Leon and Judy Reece of Hillsville, VA; and Freddy Reece of Mt. Airy; several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews. Mr. Reece had many special friends who he loved dearly. In addition to his parents, Mr. Reece was preceded in death by a brother, C.W. Reece, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 16, 2008 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Elmo Hiatt and Rev. Junior Dawson. Burial will follow in Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cana, VA. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7:00 to 9:00 at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care at 401 Technology Ln., Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
