Larry Clyde "Peanut" Sawyers

Mr. Larry Clyde “Peanut” Sawyers, age 84, of Ararat, VA, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Surry Rehabilitation Center in Mount Airy.  He was born in Patrick County, VA on June 3, 1937, the son of the late Monroe and Helen Bateman Sawyers.  Mr. Sawyers was retired from Sara Lee after many years of service.  He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Milford and Sonya Sawyers, Randall and Heidi Sawyers, Gary and Lisa Sawyers, brother-in-law, William Crab Smith; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy Jackson, Bettie and Bernie Epperson; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Sawyers was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Smith Sawyers, son, Larry “Rocky” Sawyers, sister, Linda Dollyhigh; brother, Arville Sawyers; brother-in-law, Eddie Dollyhigh.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday May 14, 2022, at Oakdale Cemetery with the Rev.
