Larry Vogel Hiatt

Mr. Larry Vogel Hiatt, 78, of Cana, VA, passed away and at the CJW Medical Center in Richmond, Tuesday, December 20, 2022.  He was born in Carroll Co, VA, May 27, 1944, to the late Vogel and Lola Weddle Hiatt.  Mr. Hiatt was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He graduated from Pulaski High School and began a career with Farm Bureau Insurance until opening his own insurance agency.  Mr. Hiatt enjoyed meeting people and played base with the band, “Sounds Now and Then”, playing both gospel and old rock and roll.  He was known as an old hot rod car enthusiast, building and rebuilding as long as he was able.  He attended Crooked Oak Moravian Church as long as his health permitted.  Mr. Hiatt is survived by his devoted wife, Janice Cundiff Hiatt; a sister, Teresa Hiatt, brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Connie Hiatt; and nieces, Nicky Gordon and husband, Bradley, Dana Hiatt Benfield and husband, Kamron; nephews, Jimmy Cundiff and wife, Liane, Jeff Cundiff, and wife, Tammy, and Greg Cundiff McFadden; several great nieces.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Willow Hill Moravian Church Cemetery with Rev. Gary Easter officiating.  There will not be any formal visitation at the funeral home.
