Launa Maebeth Sykes Lankford Wilson

Ms. Launa Maebeth Sykes Lankford Wilson, 85, of Walkertown, passed away Friday, February 02, 2018. Ms. Wilson was born in Surry County on January 31, 1933 to the late Coy Leonard and Essie Faye Sykes. She was retired from Bassett Furniture Company. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Mills and Gary of King, Jane Bowman of Walkertown, Rebecca Noah and Lloyd of High Point, Wanda Taylor and Terry Wright of Stokesdale, Teena Marshall and Dwight of Pilot Mountain, Tandra Lawson of Ararat, VA’ sons and daughter-in-law, Lee Wilson, Bobby Wilson and Doris all of Mt. Airy; sixteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a sister, Ginger Bode of Mt. Airy; a brother, Ted Sykes of Mississippi. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her first husband, Haywood Lowry Lankford; a granddaughter, Ashley McConkey; a sister, Fern Key; a brother, Paul Allen “Pete” Sykes. Funeral services will be held Monday February 5, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplin Drew Southern and Elder Joe Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Red Bank Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 PM until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
