Laura Ann Allen Harold

Mrs. Laura Ann Allen Harold, age 81, of Mt. Airy, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. She was born in Surry County on July 9, 1943, to the late Taylor and Ella Mae Allen. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harold was preceded in death by her husband, L.K. Harold; a son, Dennis Harold; two brothers, Sidney Allen and Herbert Allen; three sisters, Gladys Cooke, Margaret Graves and Magalene Hudson. Mrs. Harold was a faithful member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church. She enjoyed feeding deer, birds, squirrels and other animals that passed through her yard. 

Mrs. Harold is survived by two sons, David (Carla) Harold and Michael (Amanda) Harold; two daughters, Shelia (Eric) Smith and Tracey (Ricky) Johnson; seventeen grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) McNeilus, Ben Harold, Charles Harold, Laura Smith, Eric (Chelsen) Smith, Alice (Jonathan) Wood, John (Carla) Smith, Taylor (Rich) Kromer, RuthAnn (Ben) Davis, Evelyn Harold, Zach (Ashley) Journey, Paul Harold, Shawn Harold, Leah Harold, David (Rebecca) Johnson, Michael (Brittany) Johnson, Joshua Johnson; and twenty-four great-grandchildren. 

A funeral service for Mrs. Harold will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Mt Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Schuyler officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. Friends and family will be received at 10:00 am, with the funeral to follow at 11:00. Her family would like to express their gratitude for the love, care and compassion shown by the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care.
