Lawrence Ruby Lowe

Mr. Lawrence Ruby Lowe, 87, of Lowgap, passed away Sunday morning, August 11, 2019, at Ridgecrest Retirement Community in Mount Airy.  Mr. Lowe was born March 20, 1932, in Grayson County, VA, one of four children born to the late Lynn C. and Fern Smith Lowe.  Lawrence retired as the maintenance manager from Insteel Wire Products and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.  He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Rita Lowe of Creston and Roger and Debbie Lowe of King; a son-in-law, Ronnie Draughon of Lowgap; his grandchildren, Chuck and Julianna Lowe, Lisa and Bill Russell, Tina Lowe, Shannon and Paul Nevergall, and Teara Draughon Dilks; his great-grandchildren, Jordyn Ward, Olivia Nevergall, Noah Nevergall, Eli Nevergall, Gabe Nevergall, Sara Nevergall, Abaigael Nevergall, Emma Lowe, Asher Lowe, Braelen Draughon, Dawson Draughon, Tanner Russell, and Maddie Russell; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Allen McClard of Galax, VA, Barbara Lowe of Bristol, TN, Mary Lou and Charles Herrington of Southport, Bobby and Shirley Maines of Durham, Dean Maines of Sparta, Dale and Laura Maines of Baltimore, MD, and Donald and Freida Maines of Mount Airy.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Lowe was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Irene Maines Lowe; a daughter, Bonnie June Lowe Draughon; a grandson, Kevin Dean Draughon; an infant brother; a sister, Lucille Lowe McClard; and a brother, Bill Lowe.  The funeral service will be held Friday, August 16, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Mountain View Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ewell Vernon and Paul Nevergall officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday from noon until 2:00 PM at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 68, Lowgap, NC  27024.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
