Lawrence Edward Moorefield

Mr. Lawrence Edward Moorefield, age 87 of Norwood, North Carolina, passed away Friday, October 15, 2021. He was born in Rockingham, NC on March 14, 1934, to the late L.E. and Sarah Moorefield. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed. Mr. Moorefield was a faithful and devoted member of Mountain View Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters and spouses Terri Hayes, Debbie and Michael Privette, Vickie and David Brown, and Wendy and Bill Bowen; son and spouse, Tony and Kathy Moorefield; son-in-law Bob Smith; grandchildren, Laura Reich, Preston Hayes, Jeff Therrell, Thomas, Joey, and Mathew Bowen, Eric, Tate, Zachary, & Alexandra Moorefield, Cristy Carson, and Edward, Justin, & Brandon Brown, &14 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved bride Helen Jessup Moorefield, his daughter Sandra Smith, his father Lemuel Elmer Moorefield, his mother Sara Ellen Murphy Moorefield, his brothers James Wesley Moorefield and wife Melissa, Charles Earl Moorefield and wife Hilda, Henry Henderson Moorefield and wife Norma, Clyde Edsel Moorefield and wife Helen, Morris Moorefield, and Hurbert Moorefield, and sisters Margaret Estelle Hutcherson, Sara Ann Maners, and Virginia Moorefield.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Tony Goins officiating.
