Lee Dillon Plaster

          Mrs. Lee Dillon Plaster, age 89 of Stuart, Virginia passed away on Thursday July 16, 2020, at Sovah Health Martinsville Hospital.  She was born in Patrick County on March 20, 1931, to the late Jesse James Dillon, Sr., and Ocie Gilley Dillon.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Austin Plaster; and two sons, Steve Plaster and Leon Plaster; two grandsons, Kevin Smith and David Plaster; four sisters, Catherine Corns, Mary Joyce, Frances Richardson, Barbara Dillon; four brothers, Jesse J. Dillon, Jr., Frank Dillon, Hardin Dillon,  and George William Dillon. Mrs. Plaster had a green thumb, enjoyed working in her flowers, bird watching, and butterflies.  She was an avid reader, especially her Bible.  Granny Lee will be remembered for her calm, gentle nature; for going above and beyond to bring joy wherever she went; and for making her family a priority by fixing Sunday family dinners for as long as she was able.

          Mrs. Plaster is survived by one daughter, Brenda Plaster Smith of Walnut Cove, North Carolina; three granddaughters, Jennifer Hooker and husband, Chris of Stuart, Julie Smith of Walnut Cove, and Suzanne Lovings and husband, Jerry of Rural Hall; four great-grandchildren, Tiffany Bowman and husband, Cody, Toby Hooker, Jacob Lovings, and Penelope Lovings; three sisters, Bessie Turner of Bassett, Shirley Roark of Spencer, and Evelyn Rakes and husband, Leo of Woolwine; daughters-in-law, Brenda Plaster of Critz and Nancy Plaster of Stuart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

          A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. in Patrick Memorial Gardens with Pastor Rev. Allan Vass officiating.  Moody Funeral Home in Stuart has been entrusted with the services and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
