Lee Douglas Woods

Mr. Lee Douglas “Doug” Woods, age 74 of Cana, VA, passed away at his home Monday December 4, 2023.  He was born July 27, 1949, in Carroll County to the late Emmett Woods and Etta Bell Edwards Woods. He was a true Christian, a man who loved everybody.  He will surely be missed by all who knew him.  Left to cherish his memory are a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Ann Johnson and husband Darrell; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Ray Freeman and wife Falicity; grandchildren, Kimberly Elizabeth Nieft, Carl Everett Freeman, and Carly June Jordan; great-grandchildren whom he loved, , Liam, Brantley, Thatcher, and Judiana; sisters, Rushie Fauland, Frances Woods, Audrey Woods, and Sandra Woods,  and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Carlene Norman Woods; sisters, Kathleen Edwards, Maxine Edwards, and Brenda Edwards; and brothers, Junior, Rudy, Sonny, Franklin Woods, and Rev. Eugene Edwards.  Funeral services will be -held on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with service conducted by Rev. Bobby Freeman Jr.  Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time for the service at the funeral home.
