Lela Collins

Mrs. Lela Mae Hunt Collins, age 90, of Mt. Airy Passed away on Wednesday February 17, 2021 at her home.  She was born in Surry County on June 1, 1930 to the late Hoy Raymond and Nannie Turpin Hunt.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She possessed such strength, and through her Godly testimony was a blessing to everyone who knew her.  She will surely be missed by all.  Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Vickie Heath, Cathy Collins, Sandra Collins, Teresa Lyons, Gail Dowell; son, Mark Collins; sixteen grandchildren; forty-three great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Marion Collins, son, Grady Steven Collins; infant twins; sister, Ruby Marion; brothers Raymond, Leonard and Conard Hunt.  A private graveside service will be held at Cedar Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  To send flowers to Lela's family, please visit our floral store.
