Lela March Marion Goins

Mrs. Lela March Marion Goins, 90, of 406 Jessup Street, Mount Airy, passed away Monday, October 4, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Goins was born March 28, 1920, in Surry County, to the late Johnny and Sally Hodge Marion. She retired from Renfro Corporation and was a member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Billy R. and Judy Goins of Harmony; four grandchildren and their spouses, Edward Lee Goins of Mount Airy, Michael Steven and Jennifer Goins of Mooresville, and Sherri and Tracy Stone and Terri and Lynn Weddle, all of Mount Airy; five great-grandchildren, Mikey Goins, Ellie Goins, Alisha Stone, Ryan Stone, and Zack Weddle; a sister, Thelma Atkins of White Plains; a half-sister, Audrey Cain of Laurel Fork, VA; and a step-sister, Nancy Johnson of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goins was preceded in death by her husband, Elijah Edward Goins; and a daughter, Ester Faye Goins Hawks. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Robert McCrary and the Rev. Wesley Boyles, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
