Lela Elizabeth Holder McCaskill

Mrs. Lela Elizabeth Holder McCaskill, age 77, of Elkin, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born on June 29, 1947 in Surry County to the late Everett and Synester (Sina) Flippin Holder. She was a member of Shield of Faith Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory are sisters, Joyce Cooke, Frances Hawks, Gail Holder; brothers, Gordon Holder (Dianne), Jim Holder (Freda), numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCaskill was preceded in death by her husband, Gary McCaskill; a sister, Verona Branscome; brother, Walter Holder “Toe Head” and Karalyn Holder. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with service conducted by Pastor Chris Danley. Burial will follow at Ivy Green Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time for the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in honor of Mrs. McCaskill to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, P.O. Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017.
