Lela Agnes "Sue" White

Mrs. Lela Agnes “Sue” Fowler White, age 92, of Dobson, NC left this world and joined the choir of angels on January 17, 2019, at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born in High Point, North Carolina to the late Earnest Lee Fowler and the late Lula Adline Cave Fowler.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years Roy Garland White; two sisters Mary Ruth Fowler and Beatrice Anthony, and one brother, Wendell Fowler. Left behind to cherish her memory are her two sons and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Elizabeth White, Phillip David White; grandchildren, Wendy and Chris Higgs, Sandy White and Tim Sides; her great-grandchildren, Megan Higgs and Thomas McKinney, Faith Higgs: her great-great-grandson, Lincoln McKinney; her sisters, Emma Lou Gwyn, Arlene Davis, Clarine Calhoun; her special friends, Debbie Cook, Gladys Berrier. In addition to working on the family farm, Agnes worked at Adams-Millis for 28 years before retiring in 1989. Agnes appreciated her time spent outdoors, gardening, which was evident by her incredible arrangement of flowers, fruits, and vegetables that she grew at her home for nearly 69 years. She also enjoyed to travel with her husband, spend time with family and friends, and collect bells. Though she loved many things, nothing surpassed her love for the Lord and she enjoyed her many years of devoted service to Him through Snow Hill Baptist Church, in which she was a beloved member. She loved her church family and took joy in serving them as treasurer and secretary for 45 years. Agnes was fond of singing her praises of the Lord in the Snow Hill Trio and as Choir Director for Snow Hill Baptist Church. Although she is deeply missed, her family is comforted knowing that by accepting salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ, Agnes is now rejoicing in her one true home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Snow Hill Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Salem Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Jason Johnson, Rev. Jimmy Settle, and Rev. Craig Key will officiate the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Home on Saturday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd. Dobson, NC 27017. The family cannot thank them enough for the comfort and care they provided to Agnes in her final days.
