Lelia Mae Dawson Moore

Mrs. Lelia Mae Dawson Moore, 92, of Rio Rancho, NM, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2009, in Albuquerque, NM. Mrs. Moore was born April 8, 1917, in Patrick County, VA, to Alfred and Emma Hall Dawson. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister and was a retired beautician. Surviving are a daughter, Linda Morgan of the home; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Iris Willis of Portsmouth, VA; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Everette and Antoinette Dawson and Gladys Dawson all of Ararat, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Casey Moore; a daughter, Darlene Johnson; a grandchild, Brent Morgan; five sisters, Myrtle Marshall, Ruth Ferguson, Laura McMillian, Esther Mayes, and Elsie Marshall; and four brothers, Howard Dawson, Harry Dawson, Amos Dawson, and Winfred Dawson. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Mount Bethel Moravian Graveyard, conducted by the Rev. Lowell Willis. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home.
